Testimonials Can Grow Your Print Business

So often we don't utilize one of the most persuasive selling components in our marketing materials - the words of our own customers. Many of you will have amazing testimonials but never use them for the fear they sound too braggy or self-promotional but that's exactly why you should be using them. Self Promotion! That's what good marketing is!

When you have completed a job for a customer, why not capture that moment in their own words to use for showing potential new customers the true value of placing their print orders with you? Seeing others talk positively about their experience with you will help them see the value and often seeing people or jobs they can relate with can go a long way too. If your customer doesn't come running to you with a testimonial, don't be afraid to ask for one. Quite often they are honored to be asked. 

If you have testimonials, but they are not measurable, it's still ok to use them but where you feel you can go back to the customer, don't be afraid to ask. Thank them for their kind comments and ask if they can narrow down the success to one or two specific items that are improved due to them using your services. 

The best testimonials are the ones that show a measurable goal has been reached, for example, "I took advantage of the 5000 A5 flyers to promote my salon business and just a matter of weeks later, I've picked up enough to the business to see a 10X return on my investment."

Have a look through your recent job list and ask your best clients for measurable testimonials. It's a whole lot easier than making a cold call!
